Meet The Parents

Here they are folks, the wonderful caretakers that made us into the fine adults we are now, THE PARENTS!! We thought we'd give you a brief history for them and also show you a little of the now and then side.

Victor and Jolene Gates-Victor is from Culver City, California, in the Greater LA area of California. He served a mission in France from 1980-81, then moved to Provo to attend BYU. It was there that he met his future wife, Jolene at a singles ward activity where he was introduced to her by her roommate.

Jolene is from Dingle, Idaho and is proud of it! She lived there, later attended Ricks College then moved to Provo, Utah. After she met Victor, they got married in 1983, moved to North Salt Lake, and had 4 children, Alicia (24), Emily (22), Leslie (18) and Benjamin (12).

They are wonderful people and we are very greatful for them!

Paul and Amy Ellis-

Paul was raised in Taylorsville, Utah. He served a mission from 1981-82 in South Africa and then attended school at the U of U, where he met his future spouse, Amy, through a mutual friend. We're very greatful they did!

Amy's family lived in Holladay, Utah where she grew up and attended college at the U of U as well before meeting Paul and marrying the man of her dreams in 1984. They settled in the Cottonwood Heights area and had 4 children, Kevin (23), Jacob (20), Brian (19), and Jodi (15).

They are great examples of a good marriage and we love them!

License and Registration Please...

Pam: "Why doesn't Crate&Barrel let you register for a toaster full of cash?"

Couldn't have said it better ourselves Pam. That was our own little Pam Beesley from a recent episode of the Office. But on a serious note we aren't registered at Crate&Barrel. More like Walmart. In case you were wondering, we hear they have toasters, but you might have to stuff them with cash yourself. Haha. Just kidding. We decided that of all the stores, Walmart was the one that had the largest selection of items, was the most accesible nationwide, and really was just plain old the 'easiest'. They hand you a scanner and turn you loose in the store to go hog-wild! Can you really beat that? Serious.

You can access the registry online at www.walmart.com or at your nearest store (usually by the jewelry department).

Happy Hunting!!

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!!

Yes, folks, we are the WINNERS!! Maybe not of a chicken dinner, but I'd GLADLY take a 6 day 5 night trip to Kauai with paid room and flights ANY day of the week over a bucket of greasy KFC. You heard right, Emily entered an online contest with Citadel Broadcasting and they're sending us on a honeymoon! The only things we have to pay for are travel to and from the airports, food and any extra excursions we wish to go on. How fantastic is THAT!? Yeah baby!
